The Federal Police arrested in the act, on Friday night (4), a 19-year-old young man at Rio de Janeiro International Airport, Galeão, who was transporting approximately 5.5 kilograms of cocaine. The arrest occurred during a routine inspection at the terminal.
The young man is from Manacapuru, in Amazonas. He intended to board a flight with a connection in Madrid, Spain, with a final destination to Barcelona.
According to the PF, the agents located the drug hidden in false bottoms of the backpack and carry-on luggage taken by the passenger. The man was arrested in the act and referred to the state's prison system, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice.
He will face charges of international drug trafficking.
