Nine team chiefs from the pediatric emergency unit at Hospital Dona Estefânia submitted their resignation from coordination positions. The professionals left their posts in protest against the constraints they face in the daily operation of the service.

The main reason cited for the resignations is related to the lack of anesthesiologists at the hospital. This shortage has created significant difficulties in the functioning of the pediatric emergency unit, according to the professionals who left their positions.

The Local Health Unit São José, responsible for the hospital, acknowledges that there are difficulties in filling service schedules. The managing entity guarantees it is taking measures to reinforce the service and fill the existing gaps.
