Tetris denies authorizing controversial White House game against immigrants

Tetris issued a statement on Friday (4) denying having authorized the White House to use its iconic aesthetic in the controversial online game "Build the Wall," launched by Donald Trump's administration on Thursday (3). The company that owns the Tetris brand clarified that it did not participate in the creation of the game nor did it license its intellectual property for this purpose.

In a statement sent to AFP, The Tetris Company said it is reviewing the matter and that no authorization was given for the use of the brand or visual elements associated with the classic block-stacking game.

The game "Build the Wall," made available on the official White House website, featured instructions to "protect the border from the approaching horde," using a block-stacking mechanic that visually resembled the characteristic design of Tetris, created by Russian designer Alexey Pajitnov in 1984.

The success of the far-right leader shakes Australia

Pauline Hanson, leader of the Australian far right and founder of the One Nation party, threatens to break the bipartisanship that has prevailed in Australian democracy. At 73 years old and an admirer of Donald Trump, Hanson is preparing for a major electoral leap in the federal elections scheduled for 2028, with polls giving her 30% voting intention, above the Labor Party (in government) and the Coalition (liberals and conservatives), the main traditional forces. It is the first time that a third party surpasses traditional Australian parties in opinion polls.

What we want to know is about the dream

Only 30 days remain until the next Brazilian elections, which take place amid the greatest institutional crisis of the New Republic. The three branches of government are affected by an unprecedented crisis of confidence, especially the Supreme Federal Court. Brazilians will choose a president, governors, senators, and federal deputies in a context where electoral programs compete for (and lose) the population's attention in the face of the erosion of ethical and moral values in public institutions.
