The Attorney General of the Union, Jorge Messias, reacted on this Friday to the citation of his name in a Federal Police report and stated that his action before the Supreme Federal Court was aimed at seeking a solution for demands presented by the corporation within the scope of the investigations of the Master and INSS case.
In a note to the press, the Attorney General's Office stated that Messias sought interlocution with Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the cases at the STF, and with the president of the court, for the purpose of contributing to dialogue and avoiding the worsening of a sensitive institutional situation.
The AGU confirmed that it decided not to adopt the measures as requested by the Federal Police. According to the agency, the decision "resulted from a strictly technical analysis" of the procedures requested by the corporation.
The case involves divergences between the PF and the Judiciary, in which Messias tried to act as a mediator to resolve the institutional conflicts related to the ongoing investigations.
