The Electoral Court determined, this Friday, that the Federal Police investigate the origin of an image published by the portal "Bastidor.PE" showing a sign referencing the death of the husband of the governor of Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra (PSD), the businessman Fernando Lucena. The case came to light on Sunday, after the candidate for re-election spoke out on social media about the matter.
In a police report for slander, Raquel Lyra stated that the posters associate her "in an odious manner with her husband's death." Fernando Lucena died in October 2022, on the eve of the first round, after suffering a sudden illness. The governor published a video on social media asking for respect for her family and the memory of her husband.
In the recording, Lyra stated: "I was able to see up close the cruelty of those who have no limits. Respect my family. Respect who is no longer here. Respect my pain." The judicial decision determining the PF's action in the investigation into the origin of the image was still in progress in the final section of the article.
