The Environment Minister, Maria da Graça Carvalho, announced that the restructuring of the Portuguese Environment Agency and the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests is practically complete. The official guaranteed that the reorganization process of these two entities is ready to move forward.
According to the minister, the restructuring proposal should be submitted shortly to the Council of Ministers for review and approval. This is an important step in the reorganization of the country's environmental services.
The two entities involved in the restructuring are APA, responsible for environmental management, and ICNF, which oversees nature conservation and forests in Portugal. The reorganization of these agencies falls within the scope of the current government's environmental policies.
