The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) considered the increase in the fuel discount announced by the Government insufficient. Paulo Raimundo, the party's leader, accused the executive of demonstrating a lack of courage to stop fuel prices, which continue to weigh significantly on Portuguese family budgets.
The PCP argues that the State's participation in Galp should be used as an instrument to pressure the company to lower prices for consumers. According to the party's position, the State should use its shareholder position to influence the oil company's pricing decisions.
Paulo Raimundo highlighted that the measures taken by the Government are not sufficient to address the cost of living crisis affecting the Portuguese. The party maintains its demand for more robust interventions in the energy sector.
