Gil Vicente announced the signing of Guilherme Gomes, a young Brazilian midfielder who is just 20 years old, who signed a four-season contract with the Barcelos club. The player developed his entire youth career at Flamengo, where he made his first-team debut two seasons ago, at just 18 years old.
On his resume, Guilherme Gomes has important achievements, namely a Libertadores Cup, a Brazilian League title, and three Carioca Championships. Last season, he was an option for Leonardo Jardim, playing 11 matches, scoring five goals, and providing three assists.
On the same day as the confirmation of the Brazilian's arrival, Gil Vicente announced the departure of Facundo Cáseres. The 25-year-old Argentine midfielder transferred to Santos Laguna, a Mexican club managed by Portuguese coach Renato Paiva. Cáseres had been in Portugal for three seasons, having played for Farense before moving to Barcelos in 2024/25.
The Gil Vicente club pocketed three million euros from the sale of the midfielder, who had a contract with the club for another two years.
