Paulo Raimundo, Secretary-General of the PCP, accused Chega of "missing the point" regarding the reasons that should justify a motion of no confidence in the Government. The statements were made at the opening of the Festival Avante, an annual event organized by the Portuguese Communist Party.
The communist leader also criticized the Government's response to rising fuel prices, condemning the way the Government has been handling this issue. The Festival Avante is a traditional PCP event that takes place annually and traditionally marks the beginning of the political year for the party.
