A vigil will take place in Coimbra in memory of the flood victims that devastated Nepal. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 PM and will be held in front of the Santa Cruz church, in the city center.
The floods occurred on August 26 and caused a catastrophe of large proportions in the Asian country. The official count reports more than 1,300 dead and approximately 5,000 missing people.
The initiative in Coimbra comes as a gesture of solidarity towards the Nepalese people, who are facing the devastating consequences of this natural tragedy. The organization invites the local community to participate in this moment of tribute and recognition of the victims.
