The Supreme Federal Court is going through an internal crisis that has generated tension among its members. Minister Edson Fachin promised to present a response to the current disagreements and defended a set of reforms for the institution.
Among Fachin's main proposals are the creation of a code of ethics for the members of the court, the extinction of the controversial Fake News Inquiry, and the modernization of the justice system. These measures arise as an attempt to reestablish institutional harmony.
The crisis intensified in recent days, with ministers Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça exchanging accusations for about 48 hours. This open conflict between two members of the court has been escalating, contributing to the instability in Brazil's highest judicial instance.
