The Quaest poll released by TV Verdes Mares this Friday places Ciro Gomes (PSDB) in the lead in the race for governor of Ceará with 45% of voting intentions, while incumbent governor and candidate for re-election Elmano de Freitas (PT) appears with 34%. The 11 percentage point difference between the two candidates is above the poll's margin of error, which is three points plus or minus.

In the previous poll, conducted on July 30, the numbers were closer: Ciro had 43% against Elmano's 33%, representing a variation within the margin of error. Candidate Delegate Huggo (Missão) appears with 1%, while Danilo Soares (Democrata) and Vera Lúcia (Novo) did not reach this level.

Undecided voters represent 12% of the Ceará electorate, while 8% say they will vote blank, nullify their vote, or not go to the polls. According to Quaest, the profile of the undecided voter in Ceará is mainly composed of independents and women.

The success of the far-right leader shakes Australia

Pauline Hanson, leader of the Australian far right and founder of the One Nation party, threatens to break the bipartisanship that has prevailed in Australian democracy. At 73 years old and an admirer of Donald Trump, Hanson is preparing for a major electoral leap in the federal elections scheduled for 2028, with polls giving her 30% voting intention, above the Labor Party (in government) and the Coalition (liberals and conservatives), the main traditional forces. It is the first time that a third party surpasses traditional Australian parties in opinion polls.
