More than 12 thousand forgotten objects have been registered by MetrôRio this year alone, with items ranging from drones and art frames to even dentures. The metro's lost and found service allows passengers to find their lost objects hours or even days after forgetting them.
In the city's buses, recovery works differently, since each company operates in its own way. When a passenger finds a forgotten belonging, they usually leave it at some point along the route so that the driver or another employee can pick it up.
Journalist Nathan Martins, 25 years old, had this experience about three years ago, when he forgot his wallet inside a bus on line 905, which travels between Irajá and Bonsucesso, in Rio's North Zone. The object was found by another passenger who left it along the route, allowing its recovery.
