One of the two minors arrested for the alleged involvement in the murder of Carles Vilajosana, 45 years old, by means of a bladed weapon in Manresa, Barcelona, had an active supervised release measure in place from a previous case that is unrelated to this homicide. The crime occurred during the early hours of Tuesday, September 1.
The two minors were detained by authorities and both entered a closed detention center as a measure for the crime. One of them is also receiving therapeutic treatment at the center.
Authorities identified the two suspects and proceeded with their detention following investigations carried out after the homicide of Vilajosana, whose body was found on Tuesday morning in the city of Manresa.
The fact that one of the minors was already under surveillance for a previous case raises questions about the effectiveness of existing precautionary measures for minors at risk or committing offenses.
