The Government announced today that the Portuguese-language Artificial Intelligence (AI) model Amália will enter a new phase. This tool was developed to function as a virtual assistant for the Portuguese public administration.
According to the report, Amália will gain new capabilities described metaphorically as "eyes and ears" to assist with public services. The goal is to improve the interaction between citizens and government services through AI technology.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy for technological modernization of the public administration in Portugal. The Amália language model was created specifically to understand and respond in European Portuguese.
The implementation of this new phase of Amália represents a step in the digitization of Portuguese public services, potentially allowing for a more efficient response to citizens' needs.
