The executive of the Póvoa de Varzim City Council approved unanimously, at the meeting on August 31, the advancement of the process of dissolution and internalisation of Varzim Lazer. The decision received votes in favour from PSD, Aliança Poveira, and Chega, with a large majority of the municipal company's employees attending the meeting.
The process will be formally voted on at the next executive meeting, scheduled for September 15. At that time, the internalisation plan should be approved and the liquidation commission responsible for overseeing all procedures until the completion of the operation should be established.
The liquidation commission will be composed of one representative from each political force with a seat on the municipal executive and three municipal technicians from the legal, financial, and sports areas. The operation is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
