The association FACUA-Consumers in Action filed a complaint with the State Attorney General's Office so that alleged verbal attacks of a racist and Islamophobic nature are investigated. The complaint refers to incidents that occurred during several demonstrations in support of Ceuta held in different Spanish cities on the 2nd.
According to the consumer defense organization, the chants uttered during these protests contain discriminatory content against the Muslim community. FACUA considers that these behaviors should be investigated by the competent judicial authorities.
The complaint was specifically addressed to the State Attorney General's Office, requesting that proceedings be opened to determine the circumstances of the alleged events during the demonstrations. The timing of the demonstrations is related to the situation in the autonomous city of Ceuta, which is facing a migration crisis.
