The councilors elected by the PSD to the municipality of Machico defended, during a council meeting, the urgent evaluation of the partial, exceptional and transitional suspension of the Municipal Master Plan. The proposal aims to unblock housing projects that are currently blocked by the urban planning regulations in force.
The proposed measure also aims to safeguard emerging investments in the municipality and create conditions for more effective economic and tourist development in Machico. The social democrats consider that the current PDM structure is limiting the region's growth capacity.
This position arises within the scope of a council meeting held this week, where PSD councilors presented their analysis on the need to reformulate local urban planning policy. The exceptional suspension of the PDM would allow, according to the proponents, to respond more quickly to the housing and investment needs in the municipality of Madeira.
