People over 50 residing in the municipality of Paredes can now sign up for the new season of the Mais Vida Ativa program, starting on September 14. The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Paredes and offers two physical activity classes per week, held in spaces of the Parish Councils and Private Institutions of Social Solidarity of the municipality.
Participation has a monthly cost of five euros, and registrations can be made at the Parish Council of the area of residence or through the form available on the Paredes Municipality website.
Starting in October, the program plans to expand activities to include boccia and walking football, in addition to the physical activity classes already planned in this first phase.
Mais Vida Ativa aims to encourage regular physical exercise among the population aged 50 or over, promoting autonomy and independence, contributing to the maintenance of strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, and balance. The initiative seeks to reduce risk factors associated with aging and combat situations of isolation and social exclusion.
