Request for dismissal of FC Paços de Ferreira Board proceeds to General Assembly

Jornal 3604 September 2026 at 17:17

The General Assembly Board of FC Paços de Ferreira accepted the petition signed by 35 members requesting the dismissal of the current Board and the holding of early elections. The process for holding the General Assembly will now move forward, with the meeting expected to take place within approximately two weeks, although the specific date still needs to be defined and officially communicated.

With the acceptance of the request, a new phase begins in the process initiated by the members, with the necessary legal procedures for convening the Assembly being triggered. Members intend for the members to vote on the continuity of the current governing bodies and on the possibility of holding early elections.

The request comes at a particularly complicated time for the club. The team, coached by Vítor Piera, competes in Liga 3 and had a difficult start to the season. Recently, the castores were eliminated from the Portuguese Cup by Fafe, after extra time, with a goal by Nuno Sequeira already in overtime.

The next step is the definition and subsequent announcement of the date of the General Assembly, where members will be able to vote on the future of the club's Board.

Carles Puigdem faces a decisive political season with a low profile, waiting to see if he can return to Catalonia

Carles Puigdem faces an autumn with an even lower public profile than in recent months, waiting to know if the amnesty law will be applied to him and if he can finally return to Catalonia. A member of the Junts leadership explains that the expresident will not make any relevant move until he knows the decision on the amnesty. Puigdem's last public appearance was in January in Perpinyà, and since then he has only spoken through social media, not always on strictly political current affairs. Party sources indicate that Puigdem does not want his personal situation to be "handled".
