UN launches 42.6 million euro emergency appeal after floods in Nepal

The United Nations (UN) and humanitarian partners launched an emergency appeal to raise 49.6 million dollars, equivalent to 42.6 million euros, destined to help Nepal after the devastating floods that occurred in the country on August 26.

The emergency mechanism was triggered by the UN with the objective of obtaining and coordinating funds from the international community to face this humanitarian crisis caused by a natural disaster. The response plan will have a duration of four months.

The humanitarian campaign aims to provide vital aid to more than 84,000 people who were affected by the floods. The article indicates that the response plan was underway at the time of publication.

European Union and Ukraine prepare first meeting on drone industry

The European Union will meet for the first time the European and Ukrainian drone industry on September 11, in Brussels, as part of the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance created by the European Commission. The group is composed of 19 companies, nine European and nine Ukrainian, including the Spanish Indra Group, the Italian Fincantieri, the German Quantum Systems and the Polish WB Group, among others. The meeting will serve to define strategic priorities, areas of technological cooperation and joint projects, combining Ukraine's experience in the use of drones in combat with European industrial capacity.
