JPP points out "lack of word" of the Regional Government when it said it would exempt emigrants from paying fees for pedestrian paths

The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) warned this Friday, in Santana, about what it classifies as "lack of word" of the Regional Government of PSD/CDS, regarding a promise to exempt Madeiran emigrants from paying fees to access the pedestrian paths of the Region.

The commitment had been assumed by the Regional Executive in February of the same year, but, according to JPP, until the date the party made the warning, no alternative solution had been presented by the Regional Government.

The party criticized the executive's posture, underlining that Madeiran emigrants continue to be penalized with the payment of fees, despite the previously made promise.

JPP thus pressured the Regional Government again to comply with the commitment assumed with the Madeiran emigrant community, which mostly resides in mainland Portugal, Venezuela, South Africa and other countries.
