The Funchal City Council is strengthening its team of psychologists, with a competition underway to recruit professionals in this field. The information was shared by councilor Helena Leal, who advocated for a greater presence of psychologists in public policies during the opening session of the colloquium "Being a Psychologist in Times of Transformation."
Currently, the municipality has 11 psychologists, nine of whom are integrated into the council's staff and two work at SocioHabitaFunchal. The event took place in the Municipal Assembly hall and served to mark Psychologist Day.
The colloquium was organized by the Regional Delegation of the Order of Psychologists and aimed to discuss the challenges of the profession in this area, bringing together professionals and public officials to reflect on the role of psychologists today.
