The municipality of Porto voted to submit the Municipal Urban Mobility and Sustainability Plan to public consultation. The plan had been presented in July and defines guidelines for mobility in the city within a maximum ten-year timeframe.
Among the main interventions planned is the burying of three sections of the Inner Beltway. This intervention aims to significantly change vehicle circulation on one of the main roads in the city.
Regarding the Circular Road, the plan includes the construction of an interface in the area of São João Hospital. This infrastructure aims to improve the connection between different transport modes in that area of the city.
The public consultation process will allow the population to give their opinion on the proposed measures before the final approval of the plan.
