The mayor considered that the region is "stuck in the middle of a pine grove," highlighting the negative impact that the non-completion of this expressway has on the local population.

The IC6 is a road that should connect Oliveira do Hospital to other regions, but whose construction remains incomplete. This situation has been generating protest from local authorities, who consider the infrastructure essential for the economic and social development of the area.

José Francisco Rolo has repeatedly appealed to the entities responsible for the construction to accelerate the work for completion. The delay in the full opening of the IC6 has been pointed out as an obstacle to mobility and the competitiveness of the Oliveira do Hospital region.
