The Superior Council of the Federal Public Ministry opened an internal procedure to analyze messages attributed to former banker Daniel Vorcaro that mention the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, in the context of investigations into Banco Master. The case was assigned to councilor Francisco de Assis Sanseverino, who will act as rapporteur of the procedure.
The opening of the procedure occurred after federal deputies from the Novo party contacted the Superior Council requesting the appointment of a deputy attorney general to act in investigations involving Gonet. The request was presented by deputies Adriana Ventura, Marcel van Hattem, Gilson Marques and Luiz Lima.
In the document, the lawmakers requested that the official communication be immediately assigned to a rapporteur, chosen by lottery, in the Superior Council of the MPF. Now, Sanseverino will be responsible for analyzing the deputies' request and deciding on the request to remove Gonet from the investigations. The distribution of the procedure, in itself, does not mean that the allegations have been confirmed.
