Minister André Mendonça, from the Supreme Federal Court, presented invoices totaling R$ 26.4 thousand from a São Paulo tailor shop to counter dialogues revealed by the ICL portal, in which a lawyer claims to banker Daniel Vorcaro that he took Mendonça himself to try on suits at a store in the capital of São Paulo.
The documents were issued in the name of Mendonça's wife. The first invoice, of R$ 16.6 thousand (with a discount of R$ 165), describes the purchase of custom shirts at R$ 990 each and a gray suit of R$ 10.5 thousand, issued on February 8.
On that same day, lawyer Ciro Rochas Soares sent Vorcaro an audio message saying he had taken the minister to the tailor. In the recording, he states: "Hey, Vorcarinho, working for you! I took André there at Vasco now, to make a suit."
The second invoice presented by Mendonça, in the amount of R$ 11 thousand, describes the purchase of two custom blazers. With these documents, the minister's defense seeks to disprove the narrative that the meeting with the tailor was a form of proximity or political favoritism.
