Vila Nova da Barquinha concludes 13 housing units and transfers remaining works to other funds

Correio do Ribatejo4 September 2026 at 14:53

Vila Nova da Barquinha concluded 13 social housing units financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, fully complying with the established deadlines. The mayor revealed that the works under the 1st Right program, related to housing, were the only ones managed to execute within the PRR deadlines.

The investments planned in the areas of health and affordable housing that were not completed under the PRR will now be transferred to other funding sources. The municipality made this decision after the PRR deadlines expired without it being possible to complete all the planned works.

The municipality of Vila Nova da Barquinha revealed this information today through its mayor, who made the balance of the works carried out under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. The transfer to other funds allows the municipal council to continue projects that it considered priority for the development of the territory.

The success of the far-right leader shakes Australia

Pauline Hanson, leader of the Australian far right and founder of the One Nation party, threatens to break the bipartisanship that has prevailed in Australian democracy. At 73 years old and an admirer of Donald Trump, Hanson is preparing for a major electoral leap in the federal elections scheduled for 2028, with polls giving her 30% voting intention, above the Labor Party (in government) and the Coalition (liberals and conservatives), the main traditional forces. It is the first time that a third party surpasses traditional Australian parties in opinion polls.
