According to IRN, despite the suspension of this counter, there are alternatives available for those who need to request a baby's birth registration. One of these alternatives is the Online Birth service.

The Nascer Cidadão Counter allowed parents to register newborns directly at the hospital, without the need to go to an IRN counter. The suspension of this service may cause some inconvenience for parents who wish to finalize the civil registration of their children.
