The Liberal Initiative accused the prime minister of "tying his own future" by keeping minister Luís Neves in office. This position arises in the context of a motion of censure against the Government that is being debated in Parliament.
Mariana Leitão, in repeated statements, confirmed that the party will vote against the motion of censure. The IL leader justified this position by stating that it does not intend to create an even bigger problem when trying to solve an existing one.
The position of the Liberal Initiative contrasts with that of other parties that support or are considering the motion of censure against the Executive. The liberal party thus maintains its line of support for the Government, despite the criticisms of the way the prime minister has been handling the situation of minister Luís Neves.
