Catalonia's Minister of Economy and Finance, Alícia Romero, again asked the Junts party on Friday not to block the new regional financing model, agreed by the Socialists with ERC. Romero recalled that this reform of the system will allow Catalonia to receive an additional 4.7 billion euros.
The minister stated that what is being asked of Junts is that they allow the processing of the proposal and that, during this process, the improvements they consider necessary can be negotiated. The appeal comes at a delicate moment for the regional government.
Romero made these statements from Madrid, where a meeting of the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council is taking place. In this body, financing proposals are discussed before they begin their journey in the Congress of Deputies.
