Twenty-four dogs are currently at a canine center in Vila-real, looking for a family that can take care of them. The animals belong to Cristina S.C., a woman from Castellón, detained along with her partner for the death of her 18-month-old baby, Nizan.
The baby's body was located by agents after several days of searching. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the child's death, with the mother and her partner being questioned by security forces.
The dogs were left without a caregiver after Cristina S.C.'s detention, which prompted the need to find temporary or permanent homes for the animals. The Vila-real canine center is now appealing to people interested in adopting the animals.
