Christian missionaries were expelled from the temporary city created in the Black Rock desert, in Nevada (USA), for the Burning Man festival. The camp, named "Shift the Atmosphere," was dismantled by order of the event's administration after confrontations with participants and organizers since the first tents were erected in the desert.
The group, led by John Hinerman, carried out activities without the proper consent of participants, including filming people and encouraging them to "receive a blessing." These actions violated Burning Man's strict privacy rules, which prohibit taking photos or making videos showing participants' faces without prior authorization.
Burning Man is a counterculture event with a libertarian philosophy, known for including the so-called Orgy Dome among its main attractions. The festival ends on September 7.
