The Central Sindical Independiente y de Funcionarios (CSIF) expressed confidence that the Spanish Constitutional Court will annul the salary cut implemented 16 years ago, in 2010, during an extraordinary situation. The union hopes to recover the full salary of public employees through this judicial decision.
The public employees' union requests that justice rule on the Congressional veto, which prevented the elimination of the 2010 salary cut. This extraordinary measure approved more than a decade ago continues to directly affect the pockets of Spanish public workers.
CSIF maintains hope that the Constitutional Court will take the opportunity to strike down what it considers an unjust measure, thus allowing civil servants to recover the salaries they have been losing for years due to this cut implemented under special circumstances.
