The JPP today criticized the "broken promise" by the Regional Government of Madeira regarding the promise of fee exemptions on pedestrian trails for Madeiran emigrants. In Santana, the party's representative, António Trindade, recalled that the PSD/CDS committed to this measure in February this year, but that so far the promise has not been fulfilled.
The party questioned the fairness of a Madeiran having to pay to walk trails on their own land simply by residing outside the Autonomous Region. The JPP challenged the Regional Government to publicly state its position on this matter.
António Trindade was in Santana to address this issue, emphasizing that the promise made to Madeiran emigrants remains unfulfilled, which represents, for the JPP, a lack of commitment on the part of the regional authorities.
