The violence in the Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado caused the displacement of at least 1,401 people in the month of August alone, according to data cited in a United Nations report.
The document indicates that, in total, at least 29,564 people were forced to flee their homes due to armed violence between January and August 2026.
The United Nations report does not specify which armed groups are responsible for the attacks that have caused these mass displacements in the region.
The figures presented by the United Nations document account for a continuous humanitarian crisis in the province of Cabo Delgado, in northern Mozambique.
