The National Court supports the judge in the Ceuta case because she acts "in defense of Spain's general interest"

The Governing Chamber of the National Court expressed its "absolute support" for Judge María Tardón, who opened proceedings regarding the massive influx of immigrants in Ceuta. This support comes in response to concerns expressed by the General Council of the Judiciary itself regarding the magistrate's actions.

The judge ordered agents of the Police Center for Immigration and Borders (CENIF) not to inform their superiors about the content of the report she commissioned them to prepare, which generated controversy.

The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, filed a complaint about this order from the judge, questioning the decision to prevent internal communication about the report requested from the security forces.

The National Court justifies its support for Judge María Tardón arguing that her actions are carried out "in defense of Spain's general interest," thus legitimizing the proceedings opened in the case related to the migratory crisis in Ceuta.
