Lisbon without the right to silence: night flights continue above the legal limit

SOL4 September 2026 at 09:13

Lisbon continues without the right to silence at night. The environmental organization ZERO launched today a platform to monitor night flights at Humberto Delgado Airport and denounced that, in 35 weeks analyzed, the legal limit for movements between midnight and 06:00 was only met in two weeks.

The platform allows citizens to monitor night flights at the country's main airport. ZERO alerts to the situation and demands that authorities comply with the legal limits established for air movements during the nighttime period.

Humberto Delgado Airport, located in Lisbon, has been the target of criticism due to the impact of aircraft noise on neighboring communities, especially during the night. The organization considers that greater control and transparency in the monitoring of night flights is necessary.
