Hacienda guarantees the quorum to bring the financing reform to Congress after Madrid's boycott fails

The Spanish Government will approve its proposal to reform the regional financing system in this Friday's vote in the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council (CPFF). The approval will be possible thanks to the tie-breaking vote of the Ministry of Finance, which serves as a deciding vote in case of a tie.

The reform will be approved only with the votes in favor of the Ministry of Finance, Catalonia and the Canary Islands. No other autonomous community supported the Government's proposal.

Not even the autonomous communities governed by PSOE, Asturias and Castilla-La Mancha, intend to change their rejection position regarding the Government's proposal.

The boycott promoted by Madrid ultimately failed, allowing Hacienda to guarantee the necessary quorum to bring the financing reform to Congress.
