A 21-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto on September 2 in Vialonga, in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira, on suspicion of the crime of drug trafficking. The arrest was carried out by soldiers of the Republican National Guard (GNR).
At the time of the arrest, the individual was caught in possession of 17 doses of hashish, 425 euros in cash and a switchblade. The facts came following an inspection operation carried out by the soldiers.
The man was brought before the Judicial Court of Vila Franca de Xira, where he was subject to a precautionary measure. During the interrogation, he was prohibited from approaching the Vialonga area.
The operation was carried out under the "Safe School" program, which aims at the prevention and discouragement of criminal practices in areas near educational establishments.
