Rock in Rio begins this Friday at the Olympic Park, in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, with the promise to attract 100,000 people per day. The festival also takes place on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th, 12th, and 13th of this month.
Due to the large expected flow of people, the City Hall of Rio has set up a road closure plan in the surrounding area. The blockades will affect nine streets in the region, starting at 2 PM and ending at 5 AM on all event dates.
The Traffic Engineering Company of Rio de Janeiro (CET-Rio) has implemented a special traffic plan. The entire surroundings of the Olympic Park will have restricted circulation, with parking prohibited on the festival days.
Only vehicles of residents registered in advance, official vehicles, and BRT buses will be able to access the blocked area during the event.
