A group of 35 members of FC Paços de Ferreira submitted a formal request to the president of the General Assembly Board for the dismissal of the current Board and the holding of early elections. The initiative aims to allow members to voice their opinion on the future of the club and the continuity of the current governing bodies.
It now falls to the General Assembly Board to analyze the request and verify whether the procedures provided for in the club's statutes have been followed. If the statutory conditions are met, the process will proceed to a General Assembly where members will be able to discuss the situation of the Board and voice their opinion on a possible dismissal.
The request comes at a particularly difficult time for Paços de Ferreira. The team, coached by Vítor Pera, competes in Liga 3 and is going through a complicated start to the season, having recently been eliminated from the Taça de Portugal after a home defeat to Fafe, 1-0, after extra time.
The possible holding of a General Assembly could call into question the future of the current governing bodies and open a new chapter in the club's history, which now faces the possibility of a change in leadership before the end of the current term.
