Elections 2026: see dates for the first and second rounds

The 2026 elections in Brazil will have five positions up for grabs. In the first round, scheduled for October 4, voters will choose state deputies, federal deputies, senators, governors, and president of the Republic. The second round, when necessary, will be held on October 25.

The second round will only occur if no presidential or gubernatorial candidate obtains more than 50% of the valid votes. Blank and null votes are not counted for this calculation.

The electoral calendar includes free campaign airtime on radio and TV between August 28 and October 1. The arrest of candidates will be prohibited from September 19, and the arrest of voters will be prohibited between September 29 and October 6.
