Grêmio defeated Internacional 3-1 on Thursday night (3) and qualified for the Copa do Brasil semifinals. The victory was followed by provocations from the tricolor to their Colorado rival inside the Arena, Grêmio's stadium.
The gremista club used the stadium's sound system to play a waltz, referencing Inter's 15 years without titles. Mascot Mosqueteiro also danced the waltz behind one of the Arena's goals in direct provocation to Internacional.
The waltz has already become a traditional provocation between the Gre-Nal rivals. In 2016, when Grêmio completed 15 years without titles, forward Eduardo Sasha, then a player for Inter, celebrated a goal against Grêmio by dancing a waltz with a corner flag. Now, the Tricolor returned the provocation with the music at the stadium.
On social media, Grêmio also provoked Internacional. On X (formerly Twitter), the club posted a video of Inter's mascot, Saci, being shot with an arrow three times, further increasing the rivalry between the clubs.
