Ferland Mendy was not included in the list of 25 players that Real Madrid submitted to UEFA for the Champions League. The French left-back was left out of the list of eligible players for the European competition.
The decision to exclude Mendy was made by manager José Mourinho. This was a technical choice by the Portuguese coach, who preferred not to include the player in the group of athletes for the main phase of the Champions.
Mendy, who arrived at Real Madrid in 2019, has been an important figure on the left flank of the white side. His exclusion represents a significant change in Mourinho's strategy for the European competition.
