Second STF session after Vorcaro messages revelation features laughter and jokes from Moraes

extra3 September 2026 at 22:58

The second session of the full court of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) since the revelation of new messages sent by Daniel Vorcaro to Alexandre Moraes ended without any mention of the crisis involving the revelations. The atmosphere, however, was more relaxed than in the previous session, with exchanges of compliments between the justices and laughter about matters unrelated to the Federal Police (PF) report, whose confidentiality was lifted by Minister André Mendonça.

During the debate on Thursday afternoon, in a trial of an action questioning the limits of the Attorney General's power, Moraes demonstrated good humor, a behavior that had not been seen the previous day. The photograph captured by GLOBO at the end of the previous session showed a more tense atmosphere.

Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Refit, is currently a fugitive from justice. In his testimony to the STF, he stated he was "uncomfortable" signing a plea deal with the PF and mentioned having a "relationship with the director-general," possibly referring to the PF director. The Federal Police report had its confidentiality lifted by André Mendonça, who asked the Court president to analyze the document.
