União da Ilha announced Darlin Ferrattry as its new battery queen for the upcoming carnival. Mother of singer Lexa, the businesswoman will parade at the front of the percussionists at Sapucaí. She stated that this will be her last participation as battery queen, describing herself as a "Sapecona" and wanting to experience this farewell happily alongside the school.
Darlin has a long trajectory in carnival. She was previously queen at Unidos de Bangu and was announced by Império Serrano in 2020, parading at the front of the battery at Marquês de Sapucaí in subsequent years, including 2023 and 2024.
In September 2024, Darlin was crowned queen of Inocentes de Belford Roxo, but did not manage to parade. At the time, she claimed she needed to focus on her youngest daughter's career, which refers to Lexa herself. Nevertheless, the businesswoman decided to accept União da Ilha's invitation for one more participation in carnival.
