The president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), announced this Thursday that the constitutional amendment proposal (PEC) that ends the 6x1 work schedule should be voted on in the plenary of the House only after the elections. The statement was made during a Senate session, when addressing Senator Paulo Paim (PT-RS), one of the defenders of the change in the work schedule.
When making the statement, Alcolumbre said that the vote will take place "after the elections", signaling that the PEC will not be analyzed by the plenary before the first round, scheduled for October 4. The president of the Senate did not clarify whether the vote could take place in the interval between the two rounds.
Paulo Paim is not a candidate for re-election this year, which means that he will certainly not appear in the next legislative body. Government leaders had been negotiating with the president of the Senate on the topic, but the final decision was postponed to the post-election period.
