UNITA RETURNS TO UÍGE

UNITA returned today to Uíge, where on Friday it will hold the Standing Committee meeting in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The party's return to Uíge was announced by its leader, Adalberto Costa Júnior, through a video published on social media during the journey to the location.

UNITA's leader appealed for confrontations between police and youth that occurred on August 8, which resulted in several injured, not to be repeated this weekend. This appeal comes in a context of tension in the region.

The political party União Nacional para a Independência Total de Angola (National Union for the Total Independence of Angola) is making this return to Uíge to close a cycle of activities, according to Costa Júnior explained in the video shared on social media.
