The Portuguese Government confirmed the existence of a budget of 144 thousand euros allocated to the Judicial Police to proceed with the destruction of seized chemical products. This confirmation comes in response to questions raised by the Chega party.

The Ministry of Justice clarified that 62 drums with a capacity of 200 liters each were seized. The containers held Ethyl Acetate and Hexane, chemical substances whose storage and disposal require special procedures.

According to the MJ, these products represented an abnormal volume of this type of articles seized in various criminal cases, recording quantities without parallel until then in the country.

The amount of 144 thousand euros is specifically intended to cover the costs associated with the treatment and safe destruction of these seized chemicals, in an operation that highlights the unusual scale of the seizures carried out.
